A lot of fans are looking forward to find out who will be the next John Cena, the next Rock, the next Stone Cold Steve Austin, the next Hulk Hogan, etc.!

WWE President Nick Khan was recently interviewed by Bill Simmons and stated that trying to find the next John Cena would be a failure, as you can’t really compare those who become the face of the company eventually.

Here’s what Khan said:

“You get a John Cena, and part of the fun is that we just need to find the next John Cena. There is no next John Cena. The next one never looks like the last one. If you look at UFC, same thing.

Sometimes one, or an entity, can become fixated on, ‘Hey, this is our next so and so’. I’ve never seen it work. LA Knight is the first LA Knight, and that’s part of why we think that he’s resonating.”

John Cena made his WWE debut in 2002, answering Kurt Angle’s open challenge on ‘SmackDown!’ and then became an evil rapper towards the end of that year, which eventually made him a big star and turned him back into a babyface in late 2003.

John won his first World Title in 2005 when he defeated JBL in the co-main event of WrestleMania 21 to become the new WWE Champion … and the rest – so they say – is history.

LA Knight wrestles professionally since 2003 and was best known for his 2015-2019 run with IMPACT Wrestling as Eli Drake, before he joined WWE in February 2021.

A lot of experts see him as a future World Champion and possibly even the #1 babyface of the company at some point.
