During an interview on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Oba Femi talked about crossing paths with Brock Lesnar in the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match:
“There’s so much nuance to that moment because there’s one thing to have buzz online, but a lot of times buzz online doesn’t necessarily translate to what the casual crowd or the live crowd really wants.
So at the beginning stages of the face-off, me and Brock know that based on our reaction, we both have the understanding that, wait, there might be something here. There might be something here. Oh, they’re getting louder. They’re getting louder. It’s rumbling. We have something.
So in that moment, you have that mental agreement like, yes, we know we have something, so let’s not give away too much right now. You know what I mean?
So I’m glad he got the reaction. I’m glad the IWC desires actually translated to the live crowd and what the casual fans want to see. And that’s an amazing realization.
We have something there. It’s a big money fight.”
When the topic of Brock Lesnar ending the WWE Championship reign of every black wrestler was brought up, Oba said:
“We have to remember something. There’s one black person that Brock was not able to stop his momentum. Raheem! Raheem was immune to Brock’s stuff. So, one win. One win for us.”
Oba was referring to Cody Rhodes here. The American Nightmare won his feud against The Beast 2-1 in 2023.
On the February 6, 2026 episode of SmackDown, Cody said the following:
“I heard that [Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk] was gonna be a you know what measuring contest. Well, they’re both glad I’m not in it because I didn’t get the nickname ‘Raheem’ for no reason.”
