6. Shawn Michaels
HBK had issues with the Hulkster related to the booking of their WWE SummerSlam 2005 match which was billed as “Icon vs. Legend”.
Shawn thought that the match should be a Face vs. Face where the storyline would have been “Who was the better man?”. But Hogan went Old School and wanted a classic Heel vs. Babyface match where Michaels would play the heel. The WWE Creative Team agreed with Hogan’s demand, due to which HBK turned heel.
Shawn, who was pi*ssed with this decision, decided to oversell in the match to a degree where the match would look like a comedy performance rather than a “Larger than Life Pro-Wrestling match”. The next night on WWE Raw, HBK sarcastically appreciated Hogan’s performance at SummerSlam the previous night stating : “The Immortal One’s in-ring prowess was far superior to mine and that I therefore simply could not compete”.
Hulk Hogan later stated that this feud was supposed to last for 3 matches, since the Hulkster thought that it would draw a lot of money, but Hogan cancelled those plans due to Shawn’s actions on Monday Night Raw as discussed above.
