John Cena is coming back to WWE for the first time since Money In The Bank 2023

WWE just announced that 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will appear on the September 1st episode of SmackDown and will travel to India for the “WWE Superstar Spectacle” event on September 8th.

Cena was confronted by SmackDown Superstar Grayson Waller at Money In The Bank. Waller attacked Cena, but Cena laid him out with an Attitude Adjustment.

Waller saw Cena’s return news and tweeted the following:

“Make sure you wipe your feet before you visit my house.”

It looks like WWE could be setting up Cena vs. Waller for WWE Superstar Spectacle, with the match being made official on the September 1st episode of SmackDown.

Cena’s last match took place at WrestleMania 39, where he lost to Austin Theory in a United States Championship match.

During an interview with Busted Open Radio in May, Cena said he wishes he could still wrestle a full-time schedule in WWE today, but at the age of 46 and doing this for over two decades, his body can’t handle it anymore.

He also said that what he has left in the tank is what you saw at WrestleMania 39.

Speaking of the WWE Superstar Spectacle event in India, it will likely be filmed, as WWE did the same for the first ever Superstar Spectacle in 2021.

Most of the SmackDown roster isn’t expected to be a part of this India show, as the show will take place on Friday, so the roster needs to be in USA for Friday Night SmackDown.
