After losing the Universal Championship to Goldberg in 3 minutes at Super ShowDown this year, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt went after his old rival, John Cena, in a Firefly Funhouse match. He put away the 16-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion to rebuild himself after the huge loss in February.
One thing to note is that The Fiend didn’t go after the Universal Championship after losing to Goldberg. Perhaps he was waiting for the right time? He can now go after someone he hasn’t lost to, and has even intimidated in the past.
In addition, Strowman and Wyatt have a lot of history between them, as Wyatt introduced Strowman as the 4th member of The Wyatt Family back in 2015. A pretty intriguing rivalry can be built upon their amazing chemistry.
As Roman Reigns might not compete for a long time, WWE would need someone who’s properly built up to carry the Title, so The Fiend looks like a good choice.
