Old School WWF/WCW/ECW Veteran Mr. Hughes (Real name: Curtis Hughes) celebrates his 54th birthday today.

After being the bodyguard WCW World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger in 1991, Hughes joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1993 where he feuded with The Undertaker for a while.

He then left for ECW, where he was the bodyguard of ECW World Heavyweight Champion Shane Douglas, only to return to the WWF in 1997 as Triple H’s bodyguard, but was replaced by Chyna after a few appearances.

His last major role was managing “Y2J” Chris Jericho on WWF TV during the Attitude Era (1999), where he had lost a notable amount of weight.

Mr. Hughes is one of very few professional wrestlers, who actually wrestled with their sunglasses on.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. HUGHES!

• RAW Wrestler On Why He Doesn’t Complain About His Position In WWE

During a recent edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness podcast, RAW wrestler Zack Ryder talked about why he doesn’t complain about his position in WWE.

Below is what Ryder said:

“In this business, there’s only a couple things that you can control, right? Your attitude, your physique, and your gear, there’s not much else, you know. So I gotta keep all of those as best as possible otherwise what am I going to do?

Because I can’t like b*tch and complain all the time like, ‘I’m not used, I wanna be on RAW,’ like that’s not gonna help anything, you know? It’s not gonna make me any happier complaining.

You gotta be always ready, that’s my hashtag.”
