• ON THIS DAY IN WCW HISTORY (March 26, 2001) – WCW MONDAY NITRO – THE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

On this day in 2001, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired the final episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW MONDAY NITRO’.

It was broadcasted from the Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, Florida and included matches, interviews & segments featuring the 2001 WCW Wrestlers.

After Mr. McMahon announced earlier on that he had bought World Championship Wrestling, the show ended with a simulcast on WWF RAW (on TNN) that saw Shane McMahon coming out on NITRO and announced that he’s the new owner of WCW.

• RAW Wrestler Suffered A Concussion This Week

On this week’s episode of RAW, United States Champion Andrade and Angel Garza defeated Ricochet and Cedric Alexander in a tag team match.

The finish of the match was botched as the referee counted to 4 and Cedric tried to kick out at the end as well.

According to Cagesideseats, Cedric suffered a concussion during this match and that resulted in the above botch during the finish.
