• Real Reason For Brock Lesnar vs. Omos Taking Place At WrestleMania 39
As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, Brock Lesnar vs. Omos was made official for WrestleMania 39.
At one point, the following names were rumored to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 39:
– Gunther
– Bobby Lashley
– Bray Wyatt
Many fans are upset about Lesnar facing Omos, as they think this would be an appropriate match for an event like Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, and not the biggest show of the year.
WWE wanted to book Lesnar in a fresh match at WrestleMania 39, which is why they didn’t go for Lesnar vs. Lashley 4 at the Show of Shows.
Lesnar vs. Gunther or Lesnar vs. Wyatt could’ve easily been booked, but Triple H doesn’t want Gunther & Wyatt to take a clean losses at this moment.
Also, Gunther is the Intercontinental Champion right now, and a Title change is being discussed for WrestleMania 39 (where Gunther might not get pinned, since it’s rumored to be a Triple Threat Match). WWE doesn’t want to put the IC Title on Lesnar, as it’s a workhorse championship and it doesn’t fit Lesnar’s part-time schedule.
Along with WWE not wanting Wyatt to lose clean in his second televised match since his return, Lesnar doesn’t want to work with Wyatt either.
This led to Vince McMahon picking Omos to face Lesnar.
One of the very important things about booking this match is to give Lesnar a much-needed WrestleMania victory. Brock hasn’t won a match at WrestleMania in 5 years. His last win was in 2018.
Below are the results of Lesnar’s last 3 WrestleMania matches:
WrestleMania 35 – lost the Universal Championship to Seth Rollins
WrestleMania 36 – lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in the main event of Night 2
WrestleMania 38 – lost the WWE Championship to Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 2
A win over the 7-foot-3, 416 pound Nigerian Giant (who has only been pinned twice in singles matches so far) with a massive F5 would put The Beast back in the winning column at WrestleMania, as WWE continues to book the 45-year-old Legend as a top attraction.
