• Ric Flair Turned Down A Movie Role In ‘James Bond Type’ Movie

16-Time World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair was recently interviewed by WrestleZone about several different topics, including his upcoming ‘last match’ and his early Jim Crockett Promotions days in the 80s.

The Nature Boy claimed that during those days, when he was the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, the popular movie company Orion Pictures offered him the main role in a James Bond-type movie, but he declined.

Here’s what the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer had to say:

“For me personally, you remember Orion Pictures? Years ago, right, so the guy from Orion came to see me. We just started wrestling in LA in the 80s with the WCW NWA Crockett right, and they had a role for me in a movie like a James Bond type role.

Which in my mind, back then, I was living like that anyway. And the owner would’ve paid me $500,000, and you know that would have had to lose the World Title and go away to film.

And then I realized after just making a commercial yesterday that took almost 10 hours to shoot just a commercial. I think I always thought that I missed that stuff that The Rock and Cena had, but I couldn’t live that life that 6 am take retake, retake, retake.

I tell the guys I’m ‘One Take Naitch.’ Unless you’re Vince McMahon, then I’ll take as many takes as you want me to take, but no, I missed a big deal.

But now I know that I’m not cut out to go to bed at 12 o’clock at night and get up at 6 and spend an hour in a make-up chair. So I didn’t miss out on anything, no, but I did have an opportunity.”
