Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Roman Reigns and The Rock.

• Prior to WrestleMania 40, a fan asked Roman Reigns why he has gray hair in his beard.

The Tribal Chief blamed it on Jey Uso and Sami Zayn:

“This is because of Jey. This is Jey and Sami’s fault. This is what happens, you try to give an inch, they try to take a mile. They’ve aged me.

Thank god my skin is unmatched quality, thank god my skin is so beautiful it’s like kissed by the sun. If anything, the grey hair just showcases my experience.”

• Following his highly-anticipated return to the WWE ring during the first night of WrestleMania 40, The Rock has garnered significant financial gains, securing nearly 97,000 shares of TKO stock, which are currently valued at over $9 million.

The revelation came to light through an SEC filing, as mandated due to Dwayne Johnson’s position on the TKO board. According to the filing, the 96,558 Class A shares fully vested on Sunday, elevating Johnson’s total ownership to 193,116 shares.

These shares were part of a deal struck in January 2024, wherein Johnson joined the TKO board. The agreement stipulated that the shares would vest upon the completion of certain services outlined in the Independent Contractor Services and Merchandising Agreement. These services likely encompassed Johnson’s participation in the WrestleMania match, where he teamed up with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, as well as his involvement in the lead-up to the event itself.

Additionally, the January arrangement granted Johnson full intellectual property ownership of the “The Rock” name, along with other character-related trademarks.

Despite his return to Hollywood for upcoming projects such as the A24 film “Smashing Machine” and the live-action adaptation of “Moana,” Johnson hinted at the possibility of further in-ring appearances. He has confirmed that he will work WrestleMani 41 in 2025 and is coming for the new WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes.

As for whether The Rock will continue to earn vested stock for future wrestling matches remains uncertain, leaving fans intrigued about his potential future endeavors both inside and outside the squared circle.
