3. Reports of Vince McMahon Giving Up on Roman Reigns Are False

Many sources are reporting that Vince McMahon has lost his faith in “Roman Reigns being the face of WWE” plan but that’s not the case. Reigns has been pinned in 3 big matches now:

– WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Money In The Bank 2016 (by Seth Rollins)

– WWE Championship Match at Battleground 2016 (by Dean Ambrose)

– Raw’s Main Event to Crown The #1 Contender For The WWE Universal Championship (by Finn Balor)

These losses were a punishment for Reigns after he failed the WWE Wellness Policy while being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Also, Vince McMahon wants the fans to see Roman as a normal WWE Superstar, not someone who’s being given special treatment (push).

We have noted before how Vince wants to re-build Roman from the bottom and work his way up to the top. Vince believes if he’s able to do this exactly the way he wants to, then Roman will get over as a babyface. Vince isn’t giving up on his plan for Roman Reigns to be THE top guy of the company and replace John Cena as the #1 babyface of the WWE.

However, with Reigns being a natural heel, it looks hard that Vince could turn Roman into a “Cena 2.0”. Multiple WWE Hall of Famers including Stone Cold Steve Austin & Jim Ross have noted before that there’s big money in a Roman Reigns heel turn. Below is a heel promo from Reigns in NXT:
