1. Eric Bischoff Gives His Views on How Brock Lesnar Could Lose Money Due To His UFC 200 Drug Test Failure
During a recent edition of Eric Bischoff’s podcast, Bischoff gave his views on how Brock Lesnar could lost money due to his UFC 200 drug test failure. Below is what he said:
“You know what’s another interesting aspect of this that I’ve been thinking about the last couple of days? I read that the fine from the state of Nevada or the USADA could range somewhere from $1.5 million on up to about $1.875 million. Which is a pretty hefty fine but think about it from an accountant’s point of view. Again, I’m totally unfamiliar with how this works but just from a layman’s perspective if Brock Lesnar was paid and earned $2.5 million for that fight that means that Brock Lesnar has to pay taxes on that earned income of $2.5 million. Which is roughly 50%. Now if he gets fined $1.875 million of the remaining $1.25 million that was left after taxes he literally lost money on that fight. This time of year I think about everything from a tax perspective.”
It should be noted that Lesnar would also get a cut from the PPV buys of UFC 200.
