21. Big Match Taken Off Royal Rumble 2017
We have noted before that WWE has been planning to do a big PPV match between “The Game” Triple H and Seth Rollins for quite some time now.
The match was originally scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 32, but Rollins got injured and missed the event. WWE then planned to do that match at WrestleMania 33.
However, WWE then made a slight change to their idea and made the decision of doing the Rollins-HHH match at Royal Rumble 2017 (as they needed a big match to sell out the Alamodome which has a capacity of around 65,000 people).
But Goldberg signing a new deal with WWE has changed those plans again. Now that Goldberg & Brock Lesnar will both be a part of the Royal Rumble 2017 match, WWE has moved back to their previous plan of doing Rollins vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 33.
