On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 1994, Shane Douglas defeated 2 Cold Scorpio to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, Douglas cut a promo in which he threw the NWA World Title belt away and introduced the ECW Championship. This was seen as the birth of ECW. You can watch it below:
