4. Kurt Angle Entering Royal Rumble 2017 Match?
During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, former WWF Champion Kurt Angle had the following to say about his new WWE deal:
“This is all about the Hall of Fame, nothing else, and I’m OK with that. WWE wanted to show their appreciation for my career there. Even though I feel it was short-lived at six-and-a-half years, I made enough of an impact that they felt I was worthy of the Hall of Fame.
They didn’t want to talk about anything but the Hall of Fame, and I understood. This is the priority, and I’m going to enjoy this and see where it goes from here.”
While Angle is saying that he won’t be wrestling in WWE under this deal, there have been talks backstage within WWE of Angle appearing in the Royal Rumble 2017 match as a surprise entrant.
While Angle most probably will wrestle at least one more match in WWE before retiring, chances of Angle appearing in the Rumble match appear less as WWE has already stacked up this year’s Rumble match with appearances by Goldberg, The Undertaker & Brock Lesnar!
