3. Shane McMahon vs. Triple H Nixed For SummerSlam 2016
After Shane McMahon’s match at WrestleMania 32 and the reaction he got from the fans, WWE officials wanted him to wrestle once again this year. That match was scheduled to happen at the biggest event of the Summer, SummerSlam 2016.
With Shane & Stephanie McMahon going head to head after WrestleMania 32 over the control of Raw, there were plans for Stephanie’s husband, Triple H, to return and feud with Shane over the control of Raw. The plan was to decided the control of Raw with a match between Triple H & Shane at SummerSlam 2016.
But with the return of Brand Extension, Stephanie became the commissioner of Raw and Shane became the commissioner of SmackDown Live. So the feud between them have settled for now. So the match with Triple H won’t be happening at SummerSlam 2016.
Also, Shane might be written off WWE programming soon as General Managers are expected to manage their respective brands on a weekly basis.
