• “Shawn could have protected him but didn’t” – Kevin Nash On Triple H Getting Punished

On his ‘Kliq This’ podcast, Kevin Nash talked about the fallout from the ‘Curtain Call’ incident. He recalled that Triple H “took the bullet” for what happened at Madison Square Garden in 1996.

Nash explained that he and Scott Hall, who were leaving for WCW, posed with their friends Shawn Michaels and Triple H, breaking character. He suggested that “Shawn could have protected him but didn’t.”

Kevin also noted that when Michaels “started to spiral through personal demons, Paul was there for him.”

He acknowledged past tension, saying, “I know there was animosity between Shawn and Hunter, yeah. I think there was on all of our ends, like ‘cause if anybody was untouchable, it was Shawn. Shawn was a champ.”

The on-screen character break led to Triple H facing punishment. This included his King of the Ring victory being given to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin instead. Austin’s 1996 tournament win is famous for launching his famous ‘Austin 3:16’ catchphrase.

Triple H eventually won the King of the Ring the following year.

• Jake Roberts Undergoes Heart Surgery

WWE Hall of Famer & current AEW personality Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is dealing with another health challenge. His wife, Cheryl Roberts, shared on Instagram today that he had heart ablation surgery.

“Jake’s going in for heart ablation surgery this morning,” Cheryl wrote. “Calling all prayers warriors — good vibes, and well wishes are welcomed & appreciated.”

This isn’t Jake’s first health struggle. He’s previously battled COPD, diabetes, and a serious substance abuse problem. In 2014, he had double pneumonia and was hospitalized for a cancerous tumor.

Despite a tough outlook, Jake Roberts fought back with help from Diamond Dallas Page and DDP Yoga. This helped him lose weight, overcome addiction, and get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.

More recently, Roberts was hospitalized for breathing issues in 2021. He’s still active in All Elite Wrestling as a manager and mentor.
