• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 86th birthday of Old School WWF Legend “Captain” Lou Albano.

As one of the most memorable personalities of the famous Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection (1984-1986) during the Golden WWF Era, Lou Albano also made a name for himself when he was seen in Cindy Lauper’s music videos on MTV, as well as playing Mario in the tv series ‘The Super Mario Bros Super Show!’.

After many of the Tag Teams he managed won WWWF/WWF World Tag Team Championships, he was being referred to as “The Manager of Champions”.

Among the teams he led to Tag Team Gold were The U.S. Express, The British Bulldogs, The Wild Samoans, The Moondogs, The Blackjacks, The Valiant Brothers & The Headshrinkers, among others.

No other manager in World Wrestling Federation / World Wrestling Entertainment history had ever managed more Tag Team Champions, than Captain Lou did.

He still holds that record and it doesn’t look like anyone will ever break it.

In 1996, Lou Albano was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame (now known as WWE Hall of Fame) by radio and television host Joe Franklin.

• Shawn Michaels Open To Returning For A Match With AJ Styles & Others

Two time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels came out of retirement last year after 9 years and teamed up with Triple H to defeat Kane & The Undertaker in a tag team match at WWE Crown Jewel 2018 PPV.

According to The Dirty Sheets, Shawn Michaels won’t face Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam 2019 (despite Ziggler laying out HBK on last week’s SmackDown), but Michaels in-ring career is not over.
