It looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin will be a part of WrestleMania 41 in 2025!
The WrestleMania 40 main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship featured the surprise returns of John Cena and The Undertaker. Cena took out Solo Sikoa. The Rock then came out and took out Cena with a Rock Bottom. The Undertaker then showed up out of nowhere and chokeslammed The Final Boss.
While The Undertaker appearing was an epic surprise and got a huge pop, many fans felt it should’ve been Stone Cold Steve Austin who should’ve taken out The Rock, due to the history between both men.
During an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Austin revealed that WWE did reach out to him for WrestleMania XL and explained why he didn’t appear:
“It was close (almost appearing at WrestleMania 40), and they certainly reached out to me, and we had conversations, but my wife and I had some things going on that I didn’t need to go to Philly at that time.
But I have said, I missed that ‘Mania, and God dang, Philly was a good town for me back in the day and I appreciate those fans.”
Austin then noted that he hopes to be a part of WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on April 19 & 20, 2025:
“I couldn’t make it down on that one, but WrestleMania this year’s in (Las) Vegas, and I was doing an interview a while back, and I said, ‘Hey man, that’s 400 miles. That’s like right here, where we’re sitting. Right down the road. I’m fixing to drive back to Reno in my buggy.’ But anyway, it’ll be in Vegas. So, I hope to be there this year. If [Cody Rhodes] needs another hand, I mean, I’ll be there.”
WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently said Austin hasn’t punched his Legends card enough. Here’s what The American Nightmare said on Gabby AF:
“Stone Cold, man. Every WrestleMania is his to be on and be part of. Steve Austin is, from a dollars and cents standpoint, the most profitable wrestler ever. From guys who like and study the business of it, that’s the benchmark and where you want to get.
In addition to being all that, more memories than anyone could possibly provide. WWE at the time needed. WWE doesn’t need things that often. At that time, they needed Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he pulled [WWE] out of the spot it was in and made everybody rich and brought a whole new flavor to the industry.
I didn’t see [Austin’s WrestleMania 41 appearance tease]. I’d love to see him in any capacity. He over-delivered with Kevin Owens. If that was the end, that’s a great end. Kevin Owens did an incredible job there, too.
I feel like he hasn’t punched his Legends card enough. He could just come in and tag with somebody. I know he probably wants it to be at the highest of levels, but you’re a legend. You can do whatever you want.”
