• “Super Genie” Melissa Coates Has Passed Away
We are saddened to report that “Super Genie” Melissa Coates has passed away at the age of 50. No cause of death is known as of this writing.
After being trained at Killer Kowalski’s school and Rick Bassman’s UPW Academy, Melissa began wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling.
She even appeared at a WWE pay-per-view, Backlash 2005, where she attempted to break Chris Masters’ Masterlock in a Challenge.
She became “Super Genie” in 2014 and began managing ECW Legend Sabu. She appeared with him in Impact Wrestling as well.
She was forced to undergo an amputation of her leg last year.
WWE Hall Of Famer Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake tweeted the following about her death:
“So sad to hear about the passing of Melissa Coates way to young!!! My thoughts are with Sabu and the rest of her family and friends.”
