Dusty would portray his alter ego The Midnight Rider as soon as during his day in Eddie Graham’s Championship Wrestling From Florida Territory, but revived it during the mid-80s in NWA Jim Crockett Promotions.
In 1986, The Four Horsemen (kayfabe) broke Dusty Rhodes’ arm, which caused a masked friend of Dusty Rhodes to appear on TV and take up the battle for him.
Of course it was Dusty under a mask, portraying his alter ego for the very last time.
