On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 27, 1994, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Clash Of The Champions 26’ LIVE on TBS from the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This show included the WCW debut of legendary wrestling announcer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.
– Marcus Alexander Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio defeated Pretty Wonderful
– Ron Simmons defeated Ice Train
– WCW World Television Championship: Lord Steven Regal (c) wrestled Dustin Rhodes to a draw
– Maxx Payne & Cactus Jack defeated The Nasty Boys
– Brian Pillman defeated Col. Robert Parker
– Sting & Ric Flair defeated Big Van Vader & Rick Rude
• The Rock Puts Over Drew McIntyre After Royal Rumble 2020
Not only did Drew McIntyre eliminate WWE Champion Brock Lesnar from the Men’s Royal Rumble 2020 match last night, he also eliminated “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns in the end to win the match and earn a World Title match at WrestleMania 36.
McIntyre was interviewed backstage after his win and he said this win was for his wife:
“The first person that came to mind was my wife. You don’t really think about it, but when you’re on the road, fans know it, but we’re away from our families all the time.
They endure as much as we endure on the road. We give so much of ourselves to the fans, and we give it willingly, this is our dream, and they’re the ones holding the fort at home.
So this one’s for her.”

Old School WWF Legend The Rock put over McIntyre as he commented the following after McIntyre’s Royal Rumble victory:
