• The Rock Will Have Creative Power In John Cena’s Final Match
John Cena kicked off his Retirement Tour at the start of the year and sent shockwaves through the pro wrestling world by turning heel at Elimination Chamber and aligning himself with The Rock.
The Final Boss was expected to play a major role in the storyline, but he did not make an appearance after the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
Cena now has four appearances left on his schedule, with his final match set for Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C. on December 13. His final opponent has not been announced yet.
Speaking on the New Heights podcast, The Rock, who is also a member of TKO’s Board of Directors, discussed the 17-time World Champion’s final match and revealed that he has a little influence in its booking.
“Ooo… that’s a good one. Two of my favorites, man. I have a tiny bit of influence in the booking of it, but it’s really whoever John wants. That’s what it comes down to. Shouldn’t be me, shouldn’t be Nick Khan, shouldn’t be Triple H. It’s whoever John wants — he’s earned it.
And you know what the best part about John is? He comes as advertised. Who you think he is — that’s who he is. He’s a good dude, and I love that guy.”
John Cena defeated AJ Styles at Crown Jewel last Saturday. Before The GOAT’s last match, he is set to make two appearances on RAW and an appearance at Survivor Series: WarGames.
• Update On Seth Rollins’ Injury & Original Plan For Vision Split
Following his hard-fought match at WWE Crown Jewel, Seth Rollins appears to have sustained a legitimate injury – one that has already prompted creative changes behind the scenes.
Multiple sources indicate that Rollins was seen backstage and around Australia wearing a sling following the event. Internal speculation suggests that the injury occurred during the coast-to-coast headbutt spot in his match. Rollins reportedly broke his fall with his arm, which may have caused or worsened the injury.
According to Fightful Select, the moment was treated as legitimate within WWE, and Rollins himself remarked that the move could have “long lasting ramifications.” Despite this, he impressively finished the match, performed a post-match promo, took part in backstage segments, and even appeared in a physical segment on RAW – earning widespread respect from peers and officials alike.
Right now, specifics on the injury are being closely guarded. One WWE source emphasized that much of the discussion remains speculative, but noted that an arm fracture might be preferable to a shoulder injury in terms of recovery time. A clean break could see Rollins return by December, whereas a serious shoulder issue might require a longer layoff and force “drastic changes” in creative plans.
Rollins has continued appearing on television, though he has been careful to conceal the injury – reportedly wearing baggier clothing while filming RAW segments. He is expected to undergo further medical testing this week to determine the extent of the damage.
In the aftermath, WWE creative appears to have adjusted major storyline plans involving Rollins. Initially, reports suggested that the lineup for Survivor Series: WarGames could involve him, but that direction has since been dismissed internally.
This week’s RAW featured Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed attacking Rollins, a move that sources described as a “heavy creative pivot.” Fightful Select noted that this attack replaced previously intended storylines.
Interestingly, one source within WWE indicated that a Vision split was not scheduled until next year, echoing similar claims previously shared by Ibou from Self Made PW. Rollins’ injury accelerated that timing.
As of now, the situation remains fluid. WWE officials are said to be monitoring Rollins’ recovery closely before finalizing any new creative direction. The hope backstage is that the injury is less severe than feared, allowing the World Heavyweight Champion to avoid extended time off and resume his role sooner rather than later.
