2022 WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, with a career spanning over three decades, faced numerous wrestling legends during his long, illustrious career, but never had the opportunity to wrestle the legendary André the Giant.

Despite memorable encounters with iconic opponents like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Triple H, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, Kane, … and many more, The Undertaker always expressed a lingering wish for a match with André.

During a recent interview with SK Wrestling, The Undertaker mentioned that André did actually have plans for an angle between them, but never revealed them to anyone before he passed away, thus adding to the intrigue surrounding this dream match between two of the greatest pro wrestling legends of all time.

Here’s what The Undertaker had to say:

“The match that I’d wish I had, that I never got the opportunity to is with André The Giant. That was always a dream of mine.

Andre’s health was really, when I got here, his health was already in decline with his back and his knees and everything.

It was crazy, Tim White and I discussed it many times, it’s funny. André told me early on, ‘Kid, one day, me and you’. He had an idea, he had an angle that he wanted to do with me.

André didn’t like big guys, but he loved me for the little amount of time we got to spend together and he wanted to do business with me.

His health was just at a point where we couldn’t do it.”
