This was the first annual SummerSlam event under the World Wrestling Entertainment banner, after the WWF/WWE name change earlier that year.
On this night, “The Next Big Thing” Brock Lesnar won his 1st World Title and became the youngest WWE Champion in history at the age of 25, a record that is still intact!
