Below are a couple of top TNA & WWE news stories of the day.
• TNA Star’s Career Is Over
Cody Deaner’s time in TNA Wrestling has come to an end following a career-ending match at tonight’s Under Siege event at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.
Deaner faced Eddie Edwards in a high-stakes match where his TNA career was on the line. Before the bout, Eric Young gave Deaner a backstage pep talk.
Edwards controlled the early part of the match, dominating Deaner and working him down with submission holds. Deaner eventually fought back with the support of the crowd, but Edwards continued to punish him. Despite a strong effort, Deaner was pinned.
With that loss, Deaner’s in-ring career in TNA is officially over. After the match, Brian Myers and the rest of The System came to the ring to gloat, adding insult to injury.

• WWE Expected To Book Alberto Del Rio To Lose His Title
WWE’s growing involvement in Mexico, particularly through its relationship with AAA, is already starting to affect the promotion behind the scenes, according to a new report from Fightful Select.
The outlet has spoken to multiple sources about how things are developing between WWE and AAA. Many AAA talents, especially those without full contracts, are currently unsure about their future roles.
WWE has reportedly been sending agents to AAA tapings to observe the operations and report back. Jeremy Borash has played a key role in this process and has spoken with numerous talents.
At least one person within AAA told Fightful that some top names in the company have already noticed changes in the power structure. “A couple of top people in AAA have already felt some tides shift and have been ‘knocked down a few pegs of power,’” the source said.
Another source commented on a recent match announcement featuring El Hijo Del Vikingo and Alberto Del Rio aka Alberto El Patron for Alberto’s AAA Mega Championship, calling the timing suspicious.
The match was booked just one week before the upcoming Worlds Collide event. “It’s hard to believe that it’s an accident or coincidence,” the source said. “Even if they keep Del Rio in the company, that belt is almost surely coming off of him.”
While Del Rio’s involvement in Worlds Collide has not been confirmed, El Hijo Del Vikingo is expected to play a major role in the WWE–AAA partnership moving forward.
