1. No Mercy 1999
Come October 17, 1999 The Attitude Era was in full effect. Triple H was in the midst of building a title reign for himself, not only firmly establishing himself as a main event player but also the undisputed top heel in the company.
His opponent that night? None other then The Texas Rattlesnake “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The two waged war in the nights marquee match while further down the card The Rock defeated The Brittish Bulldog and Val Venis defeated Mankind. But it was four young superstars determined to steal the show and prove their worth to the WWE hierarchy that stole the show right from the top starts of that time, thus forever changing tag team history in the process.
The New Brood (Matt and Jeff Hardy) and Edge and Christian simply amazed the fans with a display of death-defying stunts and bumps off of ladders that not only earned them a contender of Match of the Year but also earned them the respect and attention of management and their fellow wrestlers who gave all four men a standing ovation backstage.
With such a star-making performance from all four men, and a history making intercontinental championship victory for Chyna, No Mercy remains one of the better pay-per-views the company produced in a year full of financial success.
