7. WWF SummerSlam 1997

While the WWF was still losing the weekly TV-rating war to WCW on a weekly basis that year, the 1997 SummerSlam was a really cool event that included some great entertainment. The PPV featured an awesome Cage match opener, a rare Brian Pillman WWF match, The Legion of Doom in action, … but first and foremost one of the greatest and most legendary Main Events in SummerSlam history.

In this main event everything was on the line. The Undertaker put his WWF World Title on the line, while the challenger Bret “The Hitman” Hart announced that if he wouldn’t win the championship, he would never wrestle in the United States again. But not just the 2 competitors, also the Special Guest Referee Shawn Michaels had something on the line that night, as he had to call this match right down the middle, or he would be fired.

Those stipulations added to a legendary Main Event match that will never be forgotten.
