6. WWF SummerSlam 1988
Ultimate Warrior vs. Honky Tonk Man… von WWFOldSchool
The inaugural SummerSlam in 1988 wasn’t just special for being the first one ever, but it featured some classic Golden Era action including a few unforgetable moments.
Who could forget the legendary Main Event that saw The Mega Powers face The Mega Bucks with Jesse “The Body” Ventura as the Special Guest Referee? Most of you will also remember Miss Elizabeth getting rid of her skirt during the finish, am i right? Yeah, that’s what i thought.
All matches that night were either really good or at least decent, but one that stood out, eventho it was more of a moment than an actual match, was when The Honky Tonk man issued an open challenge for his WWF Intercontinental Title. The rest is history!
On a side note, this event also featured a rare WWF appearance of NWA/AWA Legend Baron Von Raschke, who accompanied The Powers of Pain to the ring.
The Starpower on the card that night was unbelievable and reads like a ‘Who Is Who’ of Professional Wrestling.
