3. Samoa Joe Wants To Wrestle AJ Styles In NXT

In a recent interview with SportsMatters, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe talked about the chances of wrestling AJ Styles on WWE’s NXT brand.

Joe is currently a part of the NXT roster and he claims that Styles would actually want to have a run in NXT as well.

Here’s what The Samoan Submission Machine had to say:

“He’s (AJ Styles) walking around with that big meal ticket he’s got with him right now, I don’t know. He might not be too keen to get in a real fight these days. You know, I need to find me an Omos, man. He’s got a really good gig going on. I’m a little jealous to be honest. He’s figured out something great but you know, absolutely (I would like to wrestle Styles in NXT).

I think the never-ending war between me and AJ will always continue. And he’s always expressed to people that he’d love to do a little stint in NXT, come over and have some fun so, like I said, in this chaotic world, no one knows what the future holds.”

AJ Styles wrestled Samoa Joe several times while both were in Total Nonstop Action! together from 2005 until 2013, including some famous pay-per-view encounters at TNA Sacrifice 2005, TNA Turning Point 2005, TNA Sacrifice 2007 and TNA Against All Odds 2010.

In 2018, Styles & Joe feuded over the WWE Championship, where Styles managed to retain the Title at SummerSlam 2018, Hell In A Cell 2018, Super ShowDown 2018 and Starrcade 2018.

Joe will now face Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship this Sunday night at NXT TakeOver 36. On the other hand, Styles & Omos will defend the RAW Tag Team Championship against RK-BRO (Randy Orton & Riddle) this Saturday night at SummerSlam 2021.
