• Top UFC Fighter Teases Joining WWE After Being Frustrated
Former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor two times last year.
However, he failed to defeat Charles Oliveira for the UFC Lightweight Championship at the end of 2021.
After the loss, Poirier noted that he’ll probably never fight for the 155-pound Title again and now wants to focus on superfights.
He called out Nate Diaz for a fight at 170 pounds. Both men have been exchanging shots on Twitter for months now, but UFC hasn’t booked this fight.
Diaz only has one fight left on his contract and he has announced that he will retire from MMA after that. So it’s possible that UFC wants to book a trilogy fight between Diaz and McGregor when McGregor is ready to return from his leg injury.
Dustin is frustrated because he’s not getting the fight with Diaz and ended up teasing joining WWE.
A fan asked him the following on Twitter:
“When will you join WWE?”
Poirier replied:
“On my way.”
Another fan then wrote that UFC is waiting to book a 4th fight between Conor & Dustin because Conor broke his leg in their trilogy bout:
“UFC is waiting for Conor to heal up & book a fourth fight.”
Dustin replied:
“Probably so.”
Rank #1 UFC Welterweight (170 lbs) Fighter Colby Covington called out Dustin for a fight after his last win, so that’s a fight that could happen if Dustin decides to move up to 170.
