Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT will go head-to-head with the special AEW Dynamite “Title Tuesday” episode.
WWE has stacked the match card with some big matches and big names. The company has also made the first 30 minutes of the show commercial free.
In response, AEW has added a Buy In show to Dynamite and also made the first 30 minutes of the main show commercial free.
According to Haus Of Wrestling, a WWE source close to NXT stated this morning that tonight will be “a very clear example of how and why WWE is WWE, and why AEW has a long way to go.”
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and NXT Head Of Creative Shawn Michaels want to show AEW President Tony Khan that he “poked the wrong ones at the wrong time.”
“What we open with and what they open with won’t compare” is what one source stated.
NXT is expected to feature “great storytelling” and wants to put a focus on its younger stars with the help of some big main roster names.
Triple H reportedly feels this way because he thinks Tony could’ve easily put Dynamite on Thursdays back when they launched the show in 2019, but Tony wanted to pick a fight and that’s why he chose Wednesday nights, where NXT was already airing for years.
Speaking of Tony Khan, today is his 41st birthday. While wishing him a Happy Birthday, Ric Flair posted a photo of him, Wendy Barlow, Tony and Tony’s girlfriend.
