• Trish Stratus Reacts To Being Roman Reigns’ Childhood Fantasy

On this week’s RAW, Trish Stratus explained her heel turn from last week, where she attacked Becky Lynch.

She talked about history. Trish said back in 2000 when she debuted, women’s wrestling was a joke. Trish said she was the trailblazer that changed things, not her & Lita – just her. She was the first woman to main event RAW.

She said fans should’ve chanted “Thank you Trish” in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in 2019, which was the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event.

Trish said not once did Becky Lynch thank her for opening the door for the next generation. Trish said she got sick of seeing Lita being Becky’s sidekick at WrestleMania 39. She then said:

“Trish Stratus is nobody’s sidekick.”

Stratus then took the responsibility of screwing Becky out of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and attacking Lita.

Trish then ended her promo by saying:

“I’m not a nostalgia act. I’m not your childhood fantasy. I’m the greatest of all time.”

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (April 20, 1999) – WWF Legend Passed Away

On this day in 1999, we lost Old School WWF Legend “Ravishing” Rick Rude (Real name: Richard Rood) at the age of 40 due to an accidental overdose.

Rude wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1987 until 1990 and then went to Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1991.

His great career was cut short due to an injury that happened during a match against Sting in 1994, but even after retiring from active professional wrestling, Rude still appeared as a manager on WWF Television, where he managed D-Generation X, and later on WCW TV where he became a non-wrestling member of the nWo New World Order.

Still to this day, Rick Rude’s physique is unmatched in the wrestling business, so his body is considered one of the best in professional wrestling history.

In 2017, he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his old WWF/WCW rival Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.

† REST IN PEACE RICK RUDE
