Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring The Undertaker and CM Punk.
• The Undertaker recently drew attention for his political views, including his support for Donald Trump. The Deadman addressed criticism he received for interviewing Trump on his Six Feet Under podcast ahead of the U.S. Presidential Elections.
On the latest episode of his podcast, The Phenom had the following to say:
“When the opportunity presented itself, I think we had to capitalize on it. Yeah, and you know, I can already hear the comments. Oh yeah, do you hear them? Oh yeah, yeah, ‘but Nazi,’ ‘oh jeez,’ ‘fascist,’ yeah, ‘misogynist,’ all the things — all the things.”
The Undertaker stated he was unbothered by the negative reactions and stood by his decision, hinting that the situation had more complexity than many understood. He emphasized that the opportunity was too significant to pass up, which is why politics is generally avoided on the show.
“Here’s the thing — I’m not here to sing praises or, you know, I don’t care honestly what people think about what we did. We did it, and it’s done. But, you know, there’s a lot more there than what a lot of people think. Anyway, yeah, we had a great opportunity, we took it, and that’s why we don’t talk about politics on this show.”

• CM Punk’s AEW debut in 2021 marked a major moment for the company, but his time there ultimately ended in controversy, leading to his firing.
During his tenure, Punk faced opponents such as Jon Moxley, MJF, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Darby Allin, though not all matches were well-received. Notably, his match against Bobby Fish was considered by many fans to be his weakest in AEW.
Speaking on the Cheap Heat Podcast with Peter Rosenberg, Punk reflected on his run in All Elite Wrestling and admitted that he felt some matches were wasted on certain opponents.
When asked if there were any storylines he regretted missing out on, Punk stated:
“No. I feel like I wasted some matches on some people, for sure. That is what it is. Some people understand the business and some people don’t. I think everybody here (in WWE) understands the business.”
