Undertaker Reveals The Issues He Faced In His Final Match

The Undertaker Defeats AJ Styles At WrestleMania 36 To Go 25-2 At WrestleMania

The Undertaker had his final match in the main event of WrestleMania 36 – Night 1, where he defeated AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match.

He officially retired at Survivor Series 2020, after having his Final Farewell exactly 30 years after his WWF debut.

In 2022, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Vince McMahon.

During an interview with Metro, The Deadman talked about his retirement and the issues he faced during his last match.

Below are the highlights:

Making the decision to retire:

“In my heart, I wasn’t ready to do it but in my mind I knew I had to. It’s been a difficult transition because if I physically could, I would still be going.

But I can’t put on a match the way people expect to see The Undertaker wrestle. There’s no sense in tarnishing the legacy, or cashing in on the equity that I built up.”

What happened during the filming of his WrestleMania 36 match:

“My back is completely locked up, I’ve got pain shooting down my legs. That’s when I knew I was done.

It was physical, we did some really big stunts, but I shouldn’t have felt the way that I did. It was just that moment of clarity.”

After retiring from in-ring competition, The Phenom still entertains the wrestling fans with his 1 deadMAN SHOW.
