Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving The Undertaker.
• The Undertaker revealed that WWE occasionally had to edit his promos when his Southern accent slipped out, particularly when he used words like “y’all”.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, he noted that Vince McMahon pointed it out during certain instances, and on rare occasions, he even had to re-record voiceovers to replace parts of his dialogue.
While typically able to control his accent, The Undertaker admitted it sometimes emerged when he got especially passionate during a promo.
Here’s what The Deadman said:
“Vince told me on a couple of occasions, while I was doing promos, that I would let a ‘y’all’ slip out — like a Southern drawl. Every once in a while, it would sneak into a promo, and they’d have to edit it.
There were even a couple of times when I had to do a voiceover for my own promo because of it. Yeah, my drawl would come out a little too much.
I was usually pretty good about controlling it, but every now and then, I’d get too worked up.”

• The Undertaker reflected on the significant cultural shift in WWE’s backstage environment since Vince McMahon stepped down in 2022, with Triple H taking over creative control.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker contrasted the high-pressure atmosphere under McMahon with the calmer environment under Triple H.
The Undertaker described the McMahon era as chaotic, with frequent last-minute script changes and an overall sense of anxiety that kept everyone on edge. He noted that people often felt like they were “walking on eggshells” during those years, especially in the Attitude Era.
Since Triple H’s leadership began, the backstage vibe has become much more relaxed. The Undertaker praised Triple H’s success, noting that the new approach has yielded impressive results.
While acknowledging the benefits of a calmer environment, The Undertaker admitted he thrived on the previous chaos, which he believed fostered resilience and adaptability.
Here’s what The Deadman said:
“It is so calm now, like, you can’t even explain how hectic it used to be—especially during the Attitude Era and all the way up. It was just chaos. Things like that would happen; plans would get changed last minute, or he’d decide that’s not the promo he wanted. There was just so much going on.
But now, it’s so calm. Everybody is so chill. Back then, everyone was walking around on eggshells. There was just a sense of anxiety that kept you on your toes.
If you can work under [Vince’s] pressure, you can do anything. You can work with anybody. And I think that’s a good quality to have.
Now, like I said, it’s so calm. Obviously, they’re killing it. Paul’s killing it. He just has a different mindset. I kind of thrived on that chaos though.”
