• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday
Old School WWF Veteran Stevie Richards (Real name: Michael Manna) turns 47 today.
Richards made a name for himself in Eastern Championship Wrestling / Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1994 till 1997, where he was a member of Raven’s stable ‘Raven’s Nest’ and more importantly a member of the bWo, the ‘Blue World Order’, a parody of WCW’s nWo New World Order faction.
He wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1997, again as a member of Raven’s faction, which was now called ‘Raven’s Flock’.
In 1999, Vince McMahon signed Richards to a World Wrestling Federation contract as a full time main roster wrestler, and Stevie ended up staying with the promotion for 9 years till 2008.
Easily the most memorable storyline he was involved in during his time in the WWF (later renamed WWE) was in 2000 & 2001 when he called himself “Steven Richards” and became the leader of his own faction ‘Right to Censor’.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVIE RICHARDS!
• Title Match On Tonight’s SmackDown Live
WWE announced the following:
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair – SmackDown Women’s Title Rematch (If Becky gets DQ’ed, she loses the title)
“SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair’s title match at WWE Super Show-Down did not end without controversy on Saturday when Lynch intentionally got herself disqualified against The Queen in order to hold onto the gold.
Well, that will not be an option for her when the two rematch in a contest where if The Irish Lass Kicker gets DQ’ed she will lose the title.
Will Lynch be able to keep it clean against The Queen now that she doesn’t have the outlet to escape with the title by resorting to questionable tactics? Or, after Becky got the best of her after the bell at WWE Super Show-Down, will Charlotte’s rage prove to be her achilles heel?
Find out this tonight as this major title rematch with an even bigger stipulation goes down!”
• Update On Shawn Michaels’ WrestleMania 35 Status
As seen on last night’s RAW, it was announced that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will come out of retirement for a tag team match at WWE Crown Jewel PPV.
According to WrestleVotes, if everything goes well in this tag team bout at WWE Crown Jewel PPV, then HBK will work WrestleMania 35 next year.
Now that it’s official & Shawn Michaels is coming out of retirement, I’m hearing if all goes well, HBK is planning on working WrestleMania. I have heard a few ideas for his opponent but nothing solid enough to report. So… who do you guys want to see HBK wrestle at MetLife?
— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) October 9, 2018
We have noted in the past that HBK is scheduled to work multiple matches, with his next match (after WWE Crown Jewel) possibly being at Survivor Series 2018.
