In the main event of last night’s UFC 265 pay-per-view, Ciryl Gane defeated Derrick Lewis via TKO in the 3rd round to win the Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship.

He will now face UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou next to crown the Undisputed Champion.
Gane & Ngannou were teammates at one point and used to be sparring partners.
UFC President Dana White said the following about this in the post UFC 265 press conference:
“It doesn’t get any better than this (Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane). You couldn’t write it, you couldn’t script it. F**king Vince [McMahon] couldn’t have wrote a better script for this thing. It’s beautiful.”

• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 93rd birthday of Old School WWF Legend “Lord” Alfred Hayes.
Lord Alfred Hayes was considered the voice of the World Wrestling Federation for the 80s & early 90s, hosting popular segments like ‘WWF Update’ and working as a backstage interviewer and announcer.
He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 as part of their annual Legacy Wing inductions.
