• “We’ll see down the road” – The Rock Comments On His Rumored Final Match
There were rumors that WWE was planning to do Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022, with the seeds for this feud being planted at this month’s Survivor Series 2021 PPV (where WWE was planning to have The Rock appear for his 25th anniversary celebration).
However, these plans got canceled due to The Rock’s busy schedule. He won’t appear at Survivor Series and most likely won’t work next year’s WrestleMania either.
The Great One confirmed this during a recent interview with Dish Nation. Here’s what he said:
“I can tell you, there is no truth to that right now. Possibly down the road, we will see. We stay very close, myself and Roman Reigns, and I’m very happy and very proud with the work he is doing as well as The Usos, my other family members. Those guys will continue to do what they’re doing and we’ll see down the road.”
As we have reported before, WWE Officials are now hoping to book this ‘Dream Match’ for WrestleMania 39 in 2023, which would be “WrestleMania Hollywood” (which was originally scheduled for 2021).
The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is expected to be Dwayne Johnson’s final pro-wrestling match. His last match took place in 2016 at WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Erick Rowan in 6 seconds in an impromptu match.
