β€’ What Else Got Cancelled On Super SmackDown?

On Friday’s episode of Super SmackDown, Seth Rollins defeated Edge in a SummerSlam 2021 rematch.

Rollins took advantage of the referee being distracted and hit Edge with a low-blow, followed by multiple superkicks and then a Stomp to pick up the win.

After the match, Edge was taken to the back on a stretcher, put in an Ambulance and taken to the hospital.

This match and post-match segment went longer than expected, and this resulted in a Women’s Tag Team match getting cancelled.

According to Post Wrestling, Liv Morgan & Toni Storm vs. Carmella & Zelina Vega got nixed due to timing issues.

According to Fightful Select, a planned segment between Kevin Owens and Happy Corbin got cancelled as well.

β€’ Old School Wrestling Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Old School Wrestling Veteran Silo Sam (Real name: John Harris) would have celebrated his 69th birthday today.

Standing 7ft 5in (billed as 7ft 7in), he ranks #3 on the list of the tallest professional wrestlers ever, which can be seen here: https://wwfoldschool.com/the-11-tallest-pro-wrestlers-of-all-time/4/

Known as Silo Sam in Verne Gagne’s AWA (1986), he was known as Big John Harris on CWA Memphis Wrestling TV (1984-1985) and as Little John in Fritz Von Erich’s WCCW.

In 1987, he wrestled on untelevised WWF House Shows, but they didn’t end up hiring him.

Quite a lot of people remember him for chasing Pee-wee Herman because of a girl in the movie “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”.
