Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Penta and Hulk Hogan.

• WWE’s move to Netflix with Monday Night RAW has proven successful, sparking conversations about its runtime and format. While early reports hinted at a return to the traditional three-hour format, the show has showcased flexibility in its duration. The premiere ran slightly over three hours, while this week’s episode clocked in at two and a half hours.

Triple H addressed the shift, expressing a preference for the shorter runtime:

“We’ll be flexible depending on the week, but two and a half hours feels like the sweet spot.”

Unlike network television, Netflix does not enforce a rigid runtime, giving WWE the freedom to adjust the show’s length. However, WWE maintains certain internal structures.

According to PWInsider, despite the shorter broadcast, dark matches were held for the live audience, ensuring fans in attendance still got a full experience.

The early end times also align with logistical needs, particularly for talent and staff catching red-eye flights:

“Netflix allows flexibility, but the company is still going to maintain their usual structure and timing to work towards their internal clock for when the show should end.”

This is the reason why time was cut from other segments when Penta’s match and post-match interview on this week’s RAW went longer than the planned time. Many fans questioned why WWE would cut time from other segments on Netflix, especially when the show ended at the 2.5 hour mark. It’s because WWE still maintains an internal clock for shows.

• During an interview on Sway’s Universe, O’Shea Jackson Jr. revealed that he, along with Eric Andre and Wale, booed Hulk Hogan on the RAW Netflix premiere last week.

Here’s what O’Shea said:

“I was one of them. I’ll show you the video. Me, Eric Andre and Wale was giving it to him.”

When asked what was his reason for booing Hogan, O’Shea said:

“The n***a hating. The racism, bro. It’s just hard to forget how detailed that rant was. If you look up his rant, it’s very detailed.

Bringing him out here, what did you think was gonna happen? We heard the music and it was like oh, hold on. They let him have it and that’s a pivotal moment in wrestling history. I’m glad I was there.”
