According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, WWE put Raleigh (a city in North Carolina) on the list of banned words, but WWE denied it.
However, The Observer went on to note how WWE didn’t mention on air that they were in Ontario for SmackDown, and instead they used Southern California:
“For whatever reason, ‘Ontario’ was banned from being used on the air and instead they used the term ‘Southern California’. I never knew anyone thought Ontario had a connotation of bush leagues.”
