• WWE Adds 2 City Names To Their List Of Banned Words?
It’s pretty much common knowledge that all the WWE commentators have a certain list of banned words, that they can not use while doing commentary.
Some of the terms on the list will make you shake your head, while others actually seem reasonable and shouldn’t be used on a professional wrestling TV show.
Here’s the current 2021 list of banned words:
– head shot
– house show
– the Anti-Diva
– spinal injuries
– curb stomp
– being over
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, WWE put Raleigh (a city in North Carolina) on the list of banned words, but WWE denied it.
However, The Observer went on to note how WWE didn’t mention on air that they were in Ontario for SmackDown, and instead they used Southern California:
“For whatever reason, ‘Ontario’ was banned from being used on the air and instead they used the term ‘Southern California’. I never knew anyone thought Ontario had a connotation of bush leagues.”
