• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (June 3, 2016) – Old School WrestleMania Celebrity Passed Away

On this day in 2016, we lost Old School WWF WrestleMania 1 Celebrity Muhammad Ali (f.k.a Cassius Clay) at the age of 74.

Ali is considered one of the best boxers of all time, and probably even THE most famous boxer in the history of Boxing.

He wasn’t just the 2nd (outside) special guest referee at the inaugural WWF WrestleMania in 1985, but also presented the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan at the end of the Halloween Havoc 1994 PPV, as well as fighting Wrestling Legend Antonio Inoki years earlier (1976) in a “Boxer vs. Wrestler” match.

† R.I.P MUHAMMAD ALI.

• WWE Begins Using Interesting Idea For The 24/7 Title

As we noted before, the Wrestling Observer reported that WWE officials are considering having the 24/7 Championship defended on WWE’s Social Media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter…) and it’s an idea that could draw good numbers as WWE has a huge social media following and the 24/7 Title videos are doing good numbers on their YouTube channel.

WWE went ahead with this idea yesterday and uploaded an interesting video of R-Truth losing the 24/7 Championship to Jinder Mahal, and then winning it back a few seconds later.

You can watch it below:

This video has gained 2.7 million views on WWE’s YouTube channel as of this writing.

With this win, R-Truth is now a 3 time WWE 24/7 Champion and Mahal ended up having the shortest 24/7 Title reign ever.
