• WWE Changed WrestleMania 39 Plan For Cody Rhodes
WWE originally wanted to do Roman Reigns vs. The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39 – Night 2.
If that match happened, then WWE would’ve introduced a new World Championship on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39, which would’ve been won by Cody Rhodes.
However, since Rock isn’t coming back for a match, Royal Rumble winner Cody is going to challenge Roman for the Undisputed Title at WrestleMania Hollywood.
Here’s what the Wrestling Observer reported about it:
“The key to this is that they are not creating a new championship on the Saturday night show. Yeah, they were talking about doing a second title on Saturday night.
If it was Roman and The Rock, then they were going to create a championship on Saturday night that Cody would have ended up winning. But, it was Cody, Drew, or Rollins that was gonna come out of that one.
They were creating a second one, because they want to go back to two titles.”
