WWE Championship Match Official For SummerSlam 2016, Was Randy Orton’s “No Enhancement Needed” Line Scripted? Shelton Benjamin Returning To WWE, On This Day In Pro Wrestling History – July 16, 1998: The Undertaker & Stone Cold Steve Austin Capture The WWF Tag Team Titles

4. Was Randy Orton’s “No Enhancement Needed” Line At Battleground 2016 Scripted?

For those who don’t know, Randy Orton took a shot at Brock Lesnar’s failed UFC 200 drug tests during his return at Battleground 2016 as he talked about how 15-20 suplexes is what it takes to go to Suplex City, while only 1 RKO is needed to go to Viperville.

Then Orton went on to take a shot at Lesnar by saying “no enhancement needed”. You can watch the highlights of his segment at Battleground 2016 below:

It is being said that the line Orton used was actually scripted by the WWE officials. Brock Lesnar will return next week on Raw (possibly without Paul Heyman) and will address Orton’s comments.

Orton returned to in-ring action on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live and defeated the Intercontinental Champion The Miz.

Below is what WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross wrote on his website about Orton’s “no enhancement needed” line:

“The Jericho Highlight Reel was well done and Orton delivered a memorable line regarding not needing to be “enhanced” referring to Brock Lesnar’s drug test failure surrounding UFC 200. Cool line. Most memorable line of the night. Jericho was a perfect foil for Orton Sunday night.”

Speaking of Jim Ross, below is what JR wrote about the Shield Triple Threat match from Battleground 2016 and wrestlers not selling properly nowadays:

“The Triple Threat bout for the WWE Title delivered while closing the show which is never easy in today’s marketplace. I thought that the right man won and the finish was well done. Reigns got a viable, antagonist reaction that felt like money to me. Heel money is green too.

Why should I dislike alleged villain Seth Rollins? He rarely cheats, he’s a great athlete that does tons of fan favorite spots and has overcome a potential career threatening injury that was well documented. Getting fans to dislike Rollins is going to be challenging abased on the current lay of the land.

There were some sloppy, in ring moments during the night that I attribute to talents working too fast and not taking the time to properly sell during their matches. Matches devoid of proper selling thoroughly discounts the talent’s efforts and the perception of their bouts. It’s a head scratcher as to why more talents don’t comprehend the art of selling and that selling should not be perceived as a ‘weakness.'”
