• Old School WWF Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Legend “Wild Samoan” Afa (Real name: Arthur Anoai Sr.) celebrates his 76th birthday today.

Afa used to be one half of the famous 70s & 80s WWF Tag Team ‘The Wild Samoans’ and together with his Tag Team partner Sika, they won the WWF Tag Team Championship on 2 occasions.

He returned to the World Wrestling Federation in 1992 as the manager of The Headshrinkers, but when the team disbanded in 1995, Afa retired as a TV character and became the head coach of his very own Pro Wrestling school, the Wild Samoan Training Facility.

In 2007, both Afa & Sika were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by their respective sons, former WWF/E wrestlers Samu & Rosey.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AFA!

• WWE’s Backup Plan For TLC 2018 Main Event

As seen on this week’s RAW, Michael Cole announced that Braun Strowman’s elbow was shattered after brutal attack by Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre & Bobby Lashley.

It looks like the injury is not kayfabe and Braun will be undergoing surgery, according to the Wrestling Observer.

However, his elbow was not “shattered” like WWE said, but the damage was done to the bone spurs in his elbow.

The attack on RAW was a cover up for this injury that Strowman had.

On RAW, Stephanie McMahon announced Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin in a TLC match at TLC 2018 PPV. If Strowman wins this match, then he’ll face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble 2019 and Corbin will no longer be the acting RAW General Manager.

However, Corbin will become the permanent General Manager of RAW if he defeats Strowman.

Strowman’s status for TLC 2018 currently depends on the seriousness of the injury. The belief backstage is that Strowman will be ready for his match against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble 2019.

However, if Strowman isn’t good enough to go at TLC 2018, then WWE might just book a one-sided destruction of Corbin by Strowman, according to PWInsider.

Below is what Mike Johnson of PWInsider said about the backup plan for TLC 2018 main event between Strowman & Corbin:

“The expectation amongst those that I spoke to is that he will most likely make the TLC pay-per-view. But the big and I mean big asterisk there is once they cut him open they probably won’t know how bad the damage really is and you don’t know how the body is going to heal.

So I was told that if they’re going to help it, they’re going to still have him on TV in some fashion. They don’t expect there’s going to be any major time away from television but you don’t know until you go in.

But the feeling I got from those this morning once I learned it was a legitimate injury was they could always do a very one-sided deal where he just kills Baron Corbin and wipes him out and then we wouldn’t really have to worry about him wrestling again until the Royal Rumble if that is the case and he needs some more time off in terms of physicality. So we’ll see. There was no sense of the sky is falling.”
