• Roman Reigns Comments On The Possibility Of Daniel Cormier Coming To WWE After Retiring From UFC

During a recent interview with NBC Sports Radio’s Helen Yee, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns talked about Brock Lesnar showing up at UFC 226, Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier, possibility of Cormier joining WWE & more.

Below are the highlights:

On if he watched Brock Lesnar’s appearance at UFC 226 and Daniel Cormier knocking out Stipe Miocic to win the UFC Heavyweight Title:

“I’m a pretty big fan of Cormier. He’s really into what we do and he always seems like a super nice guy. But with our schedule and the amount of events that we run I wasn’t able to see it. I did hear about it obviously about Brock coming in and making a spectacle, but that’s the showman in him.”

On his thoughts regarding Daniel Cormier vs. Brock Lesnar:

“Just save me some, Danny. I think it’s good. Any time we can cross over and just create another buzz and that’s kinda what Brock is doing.

We’d love to have him in WWE a lot more. We’d love for him to show up a lot more, but you know it’s Brock Lesnar. He’s The Beast, he’s gonna do what he does. If he shows up I’m ready for him.”

On Cormier possibly joining WWE after retiring from UFC:

“I don’t see why not. You know he has all the instincts. He’s a natural fighter. I think he’d be able to learn very fast. It really just depends on where he is in his career physically and his health and his age.

But he’s a great talker, I think he’d be very comfortable on the mic. So I think if [WWE] is something he wanted to get into he’d have a lot of advantages. I think he’d have a lot of people helping him to kinda get on the fast track and get on the main roster with us.”

Old School WWF Legend Chris Jericho hasn’t been seen much on WWE programming as of late. He last appeared at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. Jericho has been busy in his concerts with Fozzy and he has also been competing in some major matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling (where he’s the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion). He might not be coming back to WWE soon because he has a very unique situation.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed Jericho’s future. He said Y2J has a unique deal because he doesn’t want to upset WWE. But he also wants to keep doing what he’s currently doing.

Meltzer said that it is likely Y2J will not be going back to WWE anytime soon. He is set to work some NJPW dates and he is also satisfied with the creative freedom he has there. Jericho is also adamant about competing at All In and he wouldn’t want to miss the event.

Jericho would obviously want a good relation with WWE but he looks satisfied working with NJPW right now.
