Below are some top AEW news stories of the day, involving Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho & Mercedes Mone.

• Rumors are swirling that Jeff Hardy’s tenure with All Elite Wrestling might be coming to an end, should he choose to part ways with the company.

The speculation comes hot on the heels of Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, departing from AEW last month as his contract reached its expiration. However, Matt’s ability to sign with another promotion was temporarily delayed, extending a few weeks past WrestleMania 40 weekend before he ultimately returned to TNA Wrestling.

Initially, it was widely believed that Jeff’s deal with AEW was synchronized with his brother’s. However, recent reports from Fightful Select suggest that Jeff’s contract was only extended until spring, contrary to earlier assumptions that it would run into next year due to time missed.

Despite his absence from in-ring competition since sustaining an injury during a No Disqualification Match with Sammy Guevara in February, AEW retains the option to extend Jeff’s contract to compensate for past time missed.
