6. WrestleMania 5
On April 2, 1989 at the WWF WrestleMania V PPV, Hulk Hogan challenged Champion “The Macho Man” Randy Savage for the WWF Championship.
After a 17 minute match, the Hulkster defeated Randy Savage to become the new WWF World Champion.
This marks the very first time, that Hulk Hogan won the World Title at WrestleMania.
5. WrestleMania I
On March 31, 1985 the very first WrestleMania happened at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but was also seen by over a million people on closed-circuit television.
The main event had “The Incredible” Hulk Hogan team up with Mr. T to take on the team of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff.
The legendary Boxer Muhammad Ali was ringside as the special (2nd) referee.
After 13 minutes the Hulkster pinned Orndorff’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3 to win the match and very first WrestleMania main event in history.
Many people don’t know that, but had WrestleMania I not become a big draw, which luckily it did, the McMahon family and their promotion, the WWF World Wrestling Federation would have been bankrupt.
