4. WrestleMania X-8
On March 17, 2002 at the WWF WrestleMania x-8 PPV, the evil nWo New World Order leader Hollywood Hogan took on “The People’s Champion” The Rock in an “Icon vs. Icon” match.
Most of the 68,237 fans in attendance cheered the Heel, Hollywood Hogan like crazy and booed the Babyface, The Rock, much to the surprise of promoter Vince McMahon and others who didn’t expect that reaction.
After 16 minutes The Rock pinned Hollyood Hogan and won the match, but after the match Hulkster turned Babyface again, when him and The Rock fought off the Outsiders who tried to attack Hogan for losing the match.
This marks the point in time, where Hulk Hogan got his fans back!
3. Bash At The Beach 1996
On July 7, 1996 at the WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 PPV, Team WCW (Randy Savage, Lex Luger & Sting) faced the evil Outsiders (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash) in the main event on the evening.
This was supposed to be a 6 man tag team match, but the Outsiders’ 3rd man was nowhere to be seen going into the match, so it just happened as a 3 on 2 Handicap match.
Towards the end, Lex Luger passed out and it was 2 vs. 2, when suddenly the great Hulk Hogan walked to the ring and everybody assumed he would help Team WCW to fight off the evil Invaders.
But Hogan turned out to be the 3rd man and betrayed WCW right there, when he helped the Outsiders to win the match and in one of the greatest post-match promo of all time, not only completed his official Heel turn, but also announced the start of arguably the very best stable/faction in history, the New World Order.
This is easily the most shocking and most unexpected Heel turn in the history of the business.
